Warehouse and shipping optimisation for a global market leader and manufacturer of armatures and pumps

In both national as well as international project business, flexibility is of growing importance. This is why - in addition to optimised production processes - warehouse logistics is taking on a central role. In the case considered here, pfenning logistics took over the entire warehouse management within the client's facilities: some 50,000 individual items. Through the use of a modern goods management system, processing times could be reduced by approximately 15%, allowing the overall warehouse capacity to be increased considerably. In addition to the actual inventory management, which utilises a paperless barcode system, pfenning logistics also performs the complete, customised packaging for all shipments right in the warehouse. The client's objective - to work in a more cost- and time-efficient manner in the warehouse area - has been more than fulfilled.
