State of the art logistics buildings, featuring their own rail connection to the German Rail network for the handling of goods, are to be constructed on a total area of 200,000 m² by 2013. The concept envisions allowing customers of the pfenning Group from various industries to use this infrastructure within the scope of their warehousing and procurement of goods.

pfenning Transport GmbH, a company of the pfenning logistics group of Viernheim, has successfully had two of its subsidiaries certified in accordance with the International Food Standard (IFS Logistic). The Nuremberg and Seevetal locations were certified by TÜV Süd to fulfil the requirements of transport category "Transport and storage of foods (packaged/cooled)" at the higher level of 97 percent.
