Your field of activity includes:

  • Accepting incoming goods
  • Checking the delivery for completeness and accuracy on the basis of the delivery notes
  • Storing the goods at the company destination
  • Performing inventory controls
  • Grouping goods into loading units and properly packaging them
  • Loading and stowing shipments in means of transportation on the basis of accompanying documents
  • Using company information and communication systems as well as workstation-specific software
  • Being involved in the carrying out of quality assurance measures

Warehouse logistics operator (m/f)

The pfenning Group is looking for young and dedicated trainees who enjoy working in a team and serving customers for training as warehouse logistics operators. The duration of the traineeship is three years, though this can be shortened to two-and-a-half years through good marks. The job responsibilities of a warehouse logistics operator include all activities related to the warehouse:

  • Contributing to logistics planning and organisation processes
  • Checking the delivery for completeness and correctness on the basis of the accompanying documentation
  • Storing the goods properly and professionally
  • Performing inventory controls
  • Order picking and packaging goods for shipments
  • Identifying and marking the goods in accordance with the legal requirements
  • Producing freight lists under observation of the loading guidelines
  • Completing dispatch records
  • Communicating and cooperating with functional sectors operating before and after them in the process stream
  • Using workstation-specific software

As prerequisite for the warehouse logistics operator traineeship, you should have graduated from Hauptschule (successfully completed your ninth year of school) with a "B"/"gut" average and have demonstrable knowledge of a foreign language, above all in English. Furthermore, you should be physically fit and work in a quality- and safety-aware manner.

Upon successful completion of the traineeship, there exist continuing education possibilities, e.g. to become a state-certified master of warehouse logistics.

Clerks for forwarding and logistics services (m/f)

Are you looking for a responsible-minded position that also gives you international exposure? Then you should take a closer look at the traineeship as a clerk for forwarding and logistics services.

You receive a three-year traineeship, though this can be shortened to two-and-a-half years through good marks. Clerks for forwarding and logistics services are responsible, above all, for controlling and monitoring logistics processes. The flow of materials and information must be planned, implemented and then inspected. Your duties also include contributing to the development of logistics solutions.

You use communication technologies to procure information and to pass this information on to the customers You assess and evaluate service offers on the transport and logistics market, calculate the prices and prepare quotations for the customers.

To be suited for this traineeship, you need to have a talent for organising. You should be able to solve problems objectively and creatively and be able to work under stress on occasion.

With a Realschulabschluss (successful completion of your tenth year of school) with good grades, above all in German and mathematics, as well as foreign language knowledge, you are the right applicant for this varied traineeship in our company.

Bachelor (BA) in the field of forwarding, shipping and logistics services (m/f)

You have successfully completed your Abitur (A-levels) and now aspire to a responsible profession that is varied and holds new challenges for you every day? Then you're right for our BA course of studies!

The BA program is based on the so-called dual system, i.e. through a partnership-based cooperation, the company and the Staatliche Studienakademie in Mannheim (Mannheim State Academy) form the Berufsakademie (University of Cooperative Education). The goal of this course of studies is to prepare the student for the subsequent work world through alternating phases of theory and practical work.

Independently taking on projects in the company-even during the traineeship-requires an understanding of professional requirements. Upon completion of the three-year program, graduates possess the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge. The modern courses in small classes (20-30 students) promote successful studies and demand individual activity on the part of the students.

During the entire duration of their studies, the students receive training compensation from the company.

The "Forwarding, Shipping and Logistics" course of studies is aimed primarily at young people who are interested in business and who would like to make a difference, both nationally as well as internationally. Coursework in the first four terms (of six months each) includes:

  • Basics of operative forwarding in national and European land transport, inland shipping and maritime and air traffic
  • In parallel with this, instruction is provided on fundamentals of micro- and macroeconomics, legal, marketing, cost/performance calculations and IT
  • Language courses in English (mandatory) and French or Spanish (elective)
  • Training to become an instructor
  • Introduction to the topic of hazardous materials or IT (elective)
  • Ende des 4. Halbjahres findet die mündliche Assistentenprüfung statt, die jeder bestehen muss

At the end of the fourth term, an oral assistant test is held that each student must pass
In the fifth and sixth terms, the seminar research paper and diploma thesis are written; these are both qualitatively as well as quantitatively comparable to the corresponding papers written at polytechnical schools and universities. At the end of the sixth term, the diploma examinations are taken.

There are numerous opportunities available to the graduate upon completion of studies.

He or she can be actively involved in projects, or even take on full responsibility for them. The subsequent prospects for promotion are very good, given the range of qualifications that the graduate possesses upon completion of his or her studies.
