Donation for children with cancer at Münster University Hospital

pfenning logistics donates €1,500 to the regional aid organisation Kinderkrebshilfe Münster e.V. The association’s work benefits children with cancer at the University Hospital Münster and their families.

Heddesheim, 25 November 2022

The pfenning logistics group, a family-owned contract logistics service provider, is supporting the work of the aid organisation Kinderkrebshilfe Münster e.V. with a donation of €1,500.
As a family business, pfenning logistics places great importance on regional commitment and the promotion of non-profit projects. On the initiative of an employee, the management became aware of the important work of this volunteer-led association, which has been run largely by affected parents for 40 years. The symbolic handover of the donation took place on 22 November, when Ralf Otto, Head of the North/West division at pfenning logistics, personally visited the association’s office in Münster.

The Kinderkrebshilfe Münster association primarily supports patient care on the Paediatric Haematology and Oncology ward at the University Hospital Münster. In close consultation with the ward’s management team, a variety of medical and psychosocial projects are funded. While resources are made available for research and new medical treatment methods, the association takes a holistic approach to the needs of its young patients under the motto “We help people live”. Thanks to this commitment, sports, art and music therapy can be funded, grief counselling services and positions for educators created, a playroom equipped, and further training for nursing staff made possible.

“Two thirds of the staff in the psychosocial team are financed by the Kinderkrebshilfe. The intensive treatment phases place a heavy burden on everyone affected over a long period of time. That is why we are pleased when people are willing to donate and when attention is drawn to the situation. Donations are an important source of income for our support services,” says Anette Blomberg, Deputy Chairwoman of Kinderkrebshilfe Münster e.V.

“With our Christmas donation to Kinderkrebshilfe Münster e.V., we are making a contribution exactly where it is needed most – in a spirit of solidarity and directly. The association is thus able to help those affected and their families cope with a very difficult time,” says Rana Matthias Nag, Managing Director of pfenning logistics.
