Manuel Pfenning is moving to the holding company of the pfenning group – Georg Lammers is joining the operational management

Heddesheim, 18 February 2025

The pfenning group, full-service provider for supply chain solutions from the Rhine-Neckar region, is reorganising and changing its management due to the strategic growth of recent years and an increased focus on customer needs. Manuel Pfenning will move to the holding company of the pfenning group. Rana Matthias Nag and Martin Königstein will be joined on the management board of pfenning logistics GmbH by the experienced logistics manager Georg Lammers.

Mr Karl-Martin Pfenning, managing partner of the pfenning group, will gradually hand over his active tasks in the holding company to his son-in-law Manuel Pfenning during the current year. The aim is to ensure the clear positioning as a family company in the next generation at holding level in the long term. Manuel Pfenning, previously Managing Director of pfenning logistics GmbH, will therefore be moving to the holding company of the pfenning group on 1 February 2025 in order to drive forward strategic issues relating to logistics and the family office. In his role as Managing Director for Operations, IT and Quality Management, the 41-year-old has made a significant contribution to the development and growth of the pfenning group in recent years.

This change also entails a reorganisation of the responsibilities of the operational management. The pfenning group was able to recruit Mr Georg Lammers as of 1 February 2025, who will now strengthen the management team around Rana Matthias Nag and Martin Königstein. Born in Münsterland, Mr Lammers, who has held management positions at Fiege, Rhenus and Infraserv in Germany and abroad, has more than 30 years of experience in the logistics industry with a focus on operational and sales responsibilities. He also has a high level of expertise in contract logistics and a broad knowledge of the industry. Most recently, he was Managing Director of the Contract Logistics division of Logwin Solutions Logistik GmbH in Germany. In future, he will head the sales, contract logistics and logistics management divisions, which have been merged as part of the reorganisation.

Rana Matthias Nag will continue to head the Finance & Controlling, Real Estate & Purchasing and Human Resources divisions as Spokesman of the Management Board. Martin Königstein, who has helped drive the organic and inorganic expansion in recent years, will continue to ensure the integration of the subsidiaries. He will also be responsible for the IT and Quality Management departments and, with his long-standing focus on transport logistics, will continue to drive forward the transport & distribution division.

This reorganisation is aimed at bundling the strengths of the group of companies, achieving further synergies through integration and growth and pursuing the strategic goals of the pfenning Group in an even more customer-oriented manner.

‘We are convinced that these changes and the bundling of our group-wide activities will enable us to offer our customers the best possible solutions from a single source. Mr Lammers also brings with him extraordinary expertise in the field of contract logistics and will help us to serve enquiries in an even more customer-oriented manner and further strengthen our position as a leading logistics services provider,’ says Rana Matthias Nag, Spokesman of the Management Board.

This success story has been continued with the multicube rheinhessen since 2018. Both logistics centres are among the top 10 industrial buildings in Europe to have been awarded DGNB Platinum. Based on this model, pfenning logistics has been building up to 300,000 m² of qualified warehouse capacity in Germany and Europe since 2022.

For short-term requirements, pfenning logistics offers the Europe-wide logistics service concept ‘WAREhouses+’, which is available at several transport hubs, including Karlsruhe, Düsseldorf, Rhine-Main and Wroclaw in Poland.
