New alliance for integrated logistics solutions: CTL cooperates with pfenning group

Heddesheim, June 12, 2025

  • End-to-end supply chain solutions along the entire value chain
  • Expansion of CTL’s service portfolio to include warehousing services
  • Operational start on June 1, 2025

Homberg / Heddesheim, June 12, 2025 – Cargo Trans Logistik AG (CTL) and the pfenning group are entering into a forward-looking partnership: The Heddesheim-based full-service provider for supply chain solutions is becoming a new network partner of CTL AG, giving it full access to its Europe-wide general cargo network. In return, the Homberg-based logistics network will benefit from the pfenning Group’s many years of expertise in warehousing and contract logistics – a cooperation that will create new synergies and strengthen the performance of both partners in the long term.

“By linking our general cargo network with the warehousing and contract logistics expertise of the pfenning group, we are creating end-to-end, flexible solutions along the entire supply chain,” says Francesco De Lauso, CEO of CTL AG. A key objective of the partnership is to further increase the strategic utilization of the general cargo network while integrating new services in the area of warehousing. Until now, CTL has focused on project-based cooperation in this segment. “General cargo logistics thrives on networked structures and intelligent interfaces,” says De Lauso. “The partnership with the pfenning Group will create real synergies that will benefit our network partners and their customers.”

Strategic cooperation opens up new logistics potential

By joining forces with CTL AG, the pfenning Group is specifically expanding its service portfolio to include general cargo logistics and gaining access to an established, Europe-wide network. Through its cooperation with 30 international partners in just as many European countries, the general cargo cooperation based in Homberg covers the entire European region.

This enables the network partners to offer transports to strategically important regions at attractive transit times and conditions. Martin Königstein, Managing Director for Transport and Distribution at pfenning logistics GmbH, sees great potential in the cooperation: “Until now, we have not been able to offer our customers a comprehensive solution in the general cargo sector – an important component of the supply chain was missing.

The partnership with CTL closes this gap and enables us to provide our customers with even more comprehensive support along their value chain in the future – in line with our guiding principle ‘PART OF YOUR PROCESS’.”

The Heddesheim-based group of companies has continuously expanded its product portfolio. State-of-the-art warehousing and transport solutions are accompanied by a wide range of value added services, from plant protection to metal construction and property development. The pfenning group is one of Germany’s leading service providers in the nationwide retail supply sector. But other industries also rely on the expertise of the Heddesheim-based company: several special warehouses have been built and put into operation for the chemical, automotive, FMCG, food and pharmaceutical industries. The company has acquired further expertise through strategic acquisitions in the areas of fashion logistics and e-commerce for consumer and medical technology goods. The company supplies solutions that ensure stable merchandise management cycles, guarantee an excellent price-performance ratio and pave the way for market success.

Four decades of experience form the foundation on which pioneering property projects are realised. With the multicube rhein-neckar, pfenning logistics developed an innovative, multi-award-winning multi-user concept in 2012 that offers space for individual forms of use and sustainable requirements. This success story has been continued with the multicube rheinhessen since 2018. Both logistics centres are among the top 10 industrial buildings in Europe to have been awarded DGNB Platinum. Based on this model, pfenning logistics has been building up to 300,000 m² of qualified warehouse capacity in Germany and Europe since 2022.

For short-term requirements, pfenning logistics offers the Europe-wide logistics service concept ‘WAREhouses+’, which is available at several transport hubs, including Karlsruhe, Düsseldorf, Rhine-Main and Wroclaw in Poland.

The pfenning group’s corporate philosophy is based on responsibility, commitment and trust. These values guide the team in its daily business. The focus is on transparency, openness and honesty – so that individual and pragmatic solutions can be developed efficiently and flexibly.
