Forward-Looking Mobility Solutions: pfenning Group and Voith Turbo Launch Partnership

Since mid-2025, Sonima GmbH, a company of the pfenning Group, has been working with the Voith Turbo division of the Voith Group. At the Erding location, Sonima operates a new logistics center that will be expanded to an area of 16,000 m² by 2026. The scope of services includes goods receipt, storage, production supply, shuttle services, and global shipping.

In July of this year, the successful cooperation with the specialist for drive technologies in the commercial vehicle industry, Voith Turbo, was launched in Erding near Munich. As part of the partnership, the division of the Voith Group has outsourced its complete logistics to Sonima. The logistics center in Erding will be expanded to a total of 16,000 m² by 2026 to accommodate the increasing requirements in material and goods flow.

The service portfolio comprises diverse services in the areas of goods receipt, storage, production supply, and global shipping of finished goods and spare parts. In addition, comprehensive value-added services are provided, and up to twelve shuttle runs per day reliably supply the plant in Garching with materials. The closely coordinated ramp-up phase of the joint start-up team from Voith and Sonima began in mid-July with production supply, which has been gradually scaled up since then. Despite the complex framework conditions, a stable supply without production interruptions could thus be guaranteed.
