The pfenning Group again pledges support for Bad Hersfeld Festival
The contract logistics service provider is once again one of the many supporters of the traditional Bad Hersfeld Festival in 2023. The pfenning group has built a logistics center in Mecklar, and another property is currently being developed in Bad Hersfeld, which will also serve as the new headquarters of HFL Herbst Frischelogistik.
Heddesheim, July 3, 2023 – The pfenning group, a family-owned contract logistics provider, remains true to its commitment from last year and contributes to preserving cultural offerings in the region through its sponsorship. The festival on the monastery ruins celebrates its 72nd anniversary and is themed around upheaval and revolution – with performances including William Shakespeare’s “King Lear” and “Jesus Christ Superstar.”

The contract logistics provider from Heddesheim launched two major development projects in the region in 2022: the “multicube osthessen,” a multi-user facility with 106,000 m² of usable space, went into operation in April 2023 for the food group Nestlé. The “freshcube osthessen,” with 12,000 m² of storage and handling space across three temperature zones, is in its final stages and will soon house the new offices of the traditional HFL Herbst Frischelogistik GmbH from Bad Hersfeld. The new development will create approximately 300 new jobs in the region.
The pfenning group develops its logistics properties in compliance with the highest sustainability standards to ensure the long-term use of its facilities. These include the use of non-toxic and environmentally friendly building materials, a rooftop photovoltaic system that produces green electricity, and the avoidance of traditional heating and cooling installations. Instead, temperature control is ensured by state-of-the-art air heat pumps. The pfenning group’s multicube concept is aligned with the stringent criteria of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB), with two of its properties ranking first and ninth among the most sustainable industrial buildings in Europe for several years now.
